Mall walking is a form of exercise in which people walk or jog through the usually long corridors of shopping malls. Many malls open early so that people may mall walk, however stores and other such facilities generally do not open at this time. Many choose to mall walk as the indoor climate is comfortable and there is easy access to restrooms. Mall walking is undertaken individually, in groups, or as part of an organised mall walking programme. Mall walking in the United States is especially popular amongst senior citizens. Mall Walking is a social walking program done indoors, typically in huge shopping malls. In additional to stable weather conditions other enticements to go mall walking include interesting store displays to look at, plenty companions, and a dry, level surface.

Nordic Walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – it makes something we can all do…. twice as effective!
Nordic Walking uses poles to in order to add two major benefits to walking:
- The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs,
- The poles help to propel the walker along – this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!
Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing.

Do you feel the need for speed?? Racewalking may be your answer. Although racewalking is a technique that can be used at any walking speed it is generally used by walkers to increase their speed and endurance. Plus the racewalking technique provides a great aerobic workout and burns more calories per mile than fitness walking or running.
Racewalking is a progression of steps so taken that the walker makes contact with the ground so that no visible (to the human eye) loss of contact occurs.
The advancing leg must be straightened (i.e., not bent at the knee) from the moment of first contact with the ground until in the vertical position.
